The pharmacy department at Kaye’s offers a full range of products and services to meet all your pharmaceutical needs. Our pharmacy staff is always available to answer your questions and assist you in any way possible. We maintain an extensive stock of medications, including ophthalmic and otic preparations, respiratory medications, insulin and diabetic supplies, and more. In the event that it is necessary to special order a medication for a patient, we are normally able to obtain the medication on the next business day. We feel that our extensive stock and our ability to special order almost any medication for the next business day provides our patients with superior service. 

Continual investment in technology allows the pharmacy staff greater flexibility in meeting patient needs. Our computerized pharmacy system gives us the ability to screen for drug interactions, generate patient information leaflets and medical expense summaries. Kaye’s is one of the few pharmacies in the nation to use the ScriptPro automated prescription technology. ScriptPro stocks nearly two hundred of the most commonly prescribed drugs, significantly cutting wait time and reducing the human error involved in labeling and filling prescriptions. ScriptPro does not make clinical judgments but instead frees pharmacists to concentrate on providing the patient care services they are trained for. Pharmacists have more time to consult with patients and answer their questions, ensuring they will understand how to take their medications and any possible side effects. Using ScriptPro enables the Kaye’s staff to more efficiently and effectively achieve our goal: to provide patients with high quality, personalized care. 

Kaye’s accepts new prescriptions and refill prescriptions in person and, in most cases, by telephone and facsimile seven days a week, 365 days a year. A licensed pharmacist is always available during business hours and emergency service is available after hours. We accept most third-party insurance plans, including but not limited to Aetna US Healthcare, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna Healthcare, ConnectiCare, ConnPace, Medspan, United Healthcare, and plans administered by Diversified, Express Scripts, PCS, and ValueRx. In addition, we accept Medicaid, most Medicare-supplement plans, and worker’s compensation plans. Please inquire if we honor your specific plan.

We welcome group homes, extended care and skilled nursing facilities to work with our committed staff in meeting patients’ specialized needs. To ease ordering and foster a relationship between health care providers, a full-time member of our pharmacy staff is dedicated to working exclusively with these facilities. In addition to packaging and delivery services, we prepare physician’s orders and kardexes. 

Kaye’s prides itself in offering a number of personal services that big, “corporate” chain stores do not. For those that qualify, we offer in-house charge accounts as a convenience to our patients. We provide free delivery service within the City of Meriden and, in many cases, to the surrounding towns of Cheshire and Wallingford. In addition, our state-of-the-art prescription compounding laboratory provides our specially trained pharmacists with the resources to create unique pharmaceutical treatments for our patients. When the needs of a patient cannot be met with conventional dosage forms, our pharmacists work with the prescribing physician to create a customized solution.
